Vlčková lies in the valley of the Kameňák stream. It is in the south-western part of the Hostýn Hills, north-east of Zlín.

The first written record of the village dates to 1373. It refers to the village as Wilzkow. At the time, the village belonged to the Lukov estate. Several original Wallachian timber houses have survived, and a chapel with a carved cross stands in the centre of the village.
