Jan z Rotalu founded Halenkovice and named it after his wife, Alena z Vrbna; the village first appears in a document dated 29 June 1634. Budačina Nature Monument includes a rocky massif and a fissure cave that local legend says sheltered robbers. Šárka Viewpoint above Halenkovice, with its gazebo, offers a full-circle view of the Hostýnské and Vizovické vrchy, Bílé Karpaty and Chřiby.
